CMarie Fuhrman is a poet and author whose work is inspired by the Western landscape. She is the author of the poetry chapbook Camped Beneath the Dam, as well as the co-editor of two significant anthologies, Cascadia Field Guide: Art, Ecology, and Poetry and Native Voices: Indigenous Poetry, Craft, and Conversations. She has poetry and nonfiction published or forthcoming in a variety of publications, including Terrain.org, Emergence Magazine, Platform Review, Northwest Review, Yellow Medicine Review, Poetry Northwest, and various anthologies. CMarie is the director of the Elk River Writers Workshop and an award-winning columnist for the Inlander. She is the Associate Director and Poetry Director for Western Colorado University’s Graduate Program in Creative Writing, where she teaches Nature Writing. CMarie is the host of Terra Firma, a Colorado Public Radio program. She is a former Idaho Writer in Residence and lives in the Salmon River Mountains of Idaho

Craig Childs is a critically acclaimed, award-winning author of over a dozen books and has written extensively on Lake Powell and the Colorado River. Childs writes about the relationship between humans, animals, landscapes, and time. He has followed ancient Pueblo passages on foot across the Southwest; his stories come from personal experiences ranging from journeys into the deep wilderness to conversations with illicit artifact dealers. Craig has been called the modern Father of the Desert. He's a writer and explorer who has published more than a dozen books with large New York presses, (Random House and Little, Brown), and small, brilliant publishers like Torrey House Press in Utah.Craig is also a stage performer, storyteller and traveling ragtag. His books include "Animal Dialogues", "The Secret Knowledge of Water", "Tracing Time: Seasons of Rock Art on the Colorado Plateau", and many more. Craig is a unique and memorable storyteller-- on stage, in the pages of his books and around a campfire.

Shawnee Rayne, accomplished musician, singer and performer -- registered nurse and life-long studen on the side.

Jennifer Rane Hancock is a poet and former Professor of Creative Writing. She’s the author of Between Hurricanes (Lithic Press 2015), and lives in Grand Junction with her husband, fiction writer TJ Gerlach.

Greg Luck, musician, singer, songwriter, host of Open Mic at Cavalcade in Fruita

Formerly a backcountry ranger, river guide, small town newspaper reporter, and editor, and teacher at Adams State College, Peter Anderson has also served as poetry editor of the Mountain Gazette.. He recently edited an anthology called Reading Colorado, which won the Colorado Book Award. His own poems appear in New Poets of the American West (Many Voices Press; Kalispell, Montana). His other publications include twelve children’s books on topics related to natural history and the American West, as well as a collection of essays, First Church of the Higher Elevations (Denver, CO; Ghost Road Press; 2005). He won the Academy of American Poets Award while earning an M.A. in American Studies at the University of Wyoming. He also earned an MDiv at Earlham School of Religion, a Quaker seminary, where he subsequently taught writing for several years. Peter lives with his wife and two daughters on the western slope of the Sangre de Cristo Range in the San Luis Valley.

Rick Kempa is the founding editor of the literary journal Deep Wild: Writing from the Backcountry. A poet and essayist, his latest book is Truths of the Trail, a collection of short prose pieces about the backpacking life.
