The Roma: A Litmus Test of Europe’s Civility in an Age of Polycrisis
Thursday 12th November - 2 pm 100c ELTE North Building
In the early 90s Vaclav Havel called the treatment of Europe’s Roma a litmus test of Europe’s civility and one of the greatest challenges facing the continent. In an age of polycrisis, economic crisis, the rise of the far right and xenophobia, war and discord it is important to assess the situation of Roma in Europe. The workshop provides an opportunity for activists and scholars to exchange reports on their recent work and to discuss in depth Roma in armed conflict situations and national and European social policy.
