The Road from Karachi invites you to our Portsmouth 100 Gala event
About this Event
The Road from Karachi's Portsmouth 100 Gala event, hosted by Nadia Arab and Michael Frankland
Join us for an unforgettable evening at the iconic Spinnaker Tower, as we celebrate the milestone of delivering 100 clean water sources and Portsmouth's incredible100-year legacy of community spirit.
This one-off event marks another a step on the journey of The Road from Karachi. The story starts with the republishing of a beloved family cookery book, with an original lost copy rediscovered three decades on and brought back to life on BBC's The Repair Shop. With the book now selling throughout the city, profits from each copy go towards funding "Pompey Pumps" with each one bearing the crest of the City of Portsmouth.
What to expect:
- Welcome drinks and canapés on arrival
- Live music, dance performances and comedy
- Speakers sharing the inspirational story behind the project
- A meet-and-greet with Beariyani, our official event mascot!
- Stalls showcasing the culture and businesses that connect Portsmouth to communities across the world
- Stunning panoramic views from one of the UK's most recognisable landmarks
