Napa's Rivertown Blues Society—far too considered in their musical approach to the traditions of the Blues to be just a band—was formed with the idea of bringing the buttoned-up fun and fury of great electric blues music to the Napa Valley. The Rivertown Blues Society features Sean Allen on guitar and vocals, Nick Carico on drums, and Brian Courtney on bass and vocals. This electric blues trio delivers the essence of the blues with stripped-down power and groove. With flowing guitar leads, a tight, driving rhythm section, and vocals that cut straight to the heart, the Rivertown Blues Society blends Texas swagger, classic Chicago blues, Memphis soul and a modern edge. Whether slow-burning or fast and cooking, their sets channel the spirit of legends like Jimmy Lee and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Clapton, The Allman Brothers and early Stones, while carving out a sound that's uniquely their own.
