The River in the Sky: A Solo Exhibition by Sibaprasad Karchaudhuri

Emami Art presents The River in the Sky a solo exhibition of Sibaprasad Karchaudhuri one of India’s most prolific abstract artists. Opening on 29 August 2025 the show explores his early works on paper from the late 1980s alongside recent paintings that weave together abstraction and lived experience.

A celebrated painter designer weaver and printmaker Karchaudhuri is renowned for his vibrant explorations of form and colour. This exhibition highlights two significant phases of his career: his experiments during the 1980s while working at the Weavers Service Centres and his later works inspired by Santiniketan where he has lived and worked for over three decades.

The River in the Sky exemplifies his unique approach—evoking landscapes moods and cultural memories through minimalist abstraction. The show reflects his lifelong pursuit of blending experience and imagination in non-representational art.
