Can theatre change society? The organisation Moral Re Armament (MRA) believed that it could and purchased the Westminster Theatre in London in 1947 to do just that. Over the next 50 years MRA staged plays which helped to resolve industry disputes; ran a hugely successful theatre for schools’ project and launched the career of Elaine Paige amongst others.

Dr Pamela Jenner will describe how MRA successfully brought theatre to the working classes and how eventually one particular production led to its downfall. Dr Jenner published her PhD in 2018 under the title " "
