The Revolutionists... Encore Performance

SJCCA Theatre is thrilled to announce that we have been selected as one of only seven performances to showcase our production at the prestigious Florida Thespians Mainstage! This incredible honor means we will be performing in front of more than 1,500 theatre students from across the state at the iconic Tampa Theatre during Spring Break. Our cast will present The Revolutionists, a bold and captivating new play that brings four courageous women of the French Revolution to life.

Written by Lauren Gunderson, The Revolutionists follows playwright Olympe De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle as they navigate the violent and chaotic world of 1793 Paris. These women fight back against the oppressive forces of the Reign of Terror with wit, humor, and a fierce sense of justice. This production blends comedy with history, exploring themes of violence, legacy, feminism, art, and activism, while reflecting on how we change the world.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement, and we can't wait to share our passion, talent, and hard work with thousands of fellow theatre students and educators in Tampa. This is a true milestone for our program and for the entire SJCCA Theatre family!
