Jenn Clayton is a mother, who has experienced loss. Her son, Othello, died at the age of 2 after a life filled with many medical challenges. Her personal experience led her to become a companion for loss families.
Jenn is a registered nurse (specializing in labor and delivery) and certified bereavement doula in the Jacksonville community. She has companioned numerous families through the loss of their child (early pregnancy, TFMR, stillborn, newborn and beyond). She is a Resolve Through Sharing certified bereavement coordinator, which is the joint commission standard for bereavement care in hospitals. She has hosted classes for nurses, OBGYN office staff, radiology technicians and others in various facilities throughout Florida. She has also guided doulas to be able to help their families make the most of every moment before saying goodbye. Jenn is offering this course to help strengthen the communities birth workers confidence and knowledge to care for their clients in the event of loss.
Tiffany Martin, LFM and founder of the St. Augustine Birth Collective understands the importance of having community birth professionals be trained in how to work with families of loss. Months after coming to our class, Tiffany had to utilize the knowledge she acquired, to serve a family expericing a devastating loss. She has graciously opened the ST. Augustine Birth Collective doors for this workshop.
