About this Event

Two Events. One Day. One Powerful Experience.

On Saturday 22 August, The Omar Foundation and Spirituality of Business will host two events at Waterloo Action Centre.

The afternoon will begin with a practical, interactive workshop created specifically for Muslim women who want greater clarity around their identity, strengths, purpose and leadership.

The evening will then bring together scholars, professionals and leaders for a conversation exploring Prophetic decision-making and how we can make wiser choices under pressure.

You can attend either event individually or, for a limited time, purchase a Double Event Pass and experience both events for the price of one.

Important ticket information

The Double Event Pass admits one woman to both events.

It does not admit two people. The pass is restricted to women because the first workshop, Women Who Rise, is a women-only session.

Event One

Women Who Rise: Knowing Him, Knowing Yourself

Time: 3:00pm–6:00pm
Doors open: 2:30pm
Audience: Muslim women
Format: Interactive workshop

Women Who Rise is a spiritually anchored, confidence-building series designed to help Muslim women rise with greater clarity, purpose and presence in their personal and professional lives.

The opening workshop, Knowing Him, Knowing Yourself, will guide participants through an interactive journey exploring their relationship with Allah, their identity, their strengths and the way they show up at work, at home and in their wider responsibilities.

This is not simply a motivational talk. It is a practical workshop designed to help participants reflect, contribute, connect and leave with clear next steps.

What the Workshop Will Explore:

Knowing Allah to Know Yourself

Explore selected Names of Allah and how they can shape your purpose, resilience, identity and direction.

Skills, Strengths and Presence

Through guided reflection and interactive exercises, identify your unique strengths, recognise your value and learn how to show up with greater confidence at work and in everyday life.

Challenges, Courage and Storytelling

Identify internal and external barriers, reframe limiting beliefs and develop practical strategies to move forward with courage and clarity.

You do not need a senior title to attend. If you want to understand your strengths, lead with purpose and grow with confidence, this workshop is for you.

Event Two

The Revival: Heart vs Mind — Prophetic Decision-Making

Time: 7:00pm–10:00pm
Doors open: 6:30pm
Audience: Open to men and women
Format: Moderated panel conversation, practical scenarios and Q&A

Your most difficult decisions are rarely a simple choice between right and wrong.

Leaders are often required to make important decisions under pressure, with incomplete information, competing priorities and real consequences for other people.

In these moments, how do you know whether you are being guided by wisdom or by fear, emotion, ego and the nafs?

Heart vs Mind: Prophetic Decision-Making explores how the Islamic tradition can help us make clearer, wiser and more morally grounded decisions.

This will not be a purely theoretical discussion. The evening is designed to provide practical tools that attendees can apply to real decisions in business, leadership, community work and everyday life.

What Heart vs Mind Will ExploreHosted by Omar DaCosta-Shahid, the conversation will bring together Ustadh Harun Waheed and Shaykha Saleha Islam Bukhari to explore how spiritual discipline, consultation and trust in Allah can transform the way we lead and make decisions.

What We Will Explore

The Internal Work
How ego, fear, emotion and the nafs can cloud judgement—and how Islamic practices can restore clarity.

Moral Intuition
How knowledge, worship, character and self-discipline develop a stronger inner compass for leadership.

Difficult Decisions
How to respond when values, responsibilities, relationships and commercial pressures come into conflict.

Who Is This For?

This event is designed for:

  • business owners and entrepreneurs
  • managers and senior leaders
  • trustees and charity leaders
  • community organisers
  • professionals whose decisions affect others

It is also open to anyone interested in spiritual, ethical and values-led leadership.

What You Will Leave With

Attendees will gain:

  • greater awareness of how ego and emotion affect decisions
  • a practical framework for difficult choices
  • a deeper understanding of istikhara, shura and tawakkul
  • tools for navigating uncertainty and moral tension
  • principles that can be applied immediately

The aim is not simply to leave you inspired but equipped.

If your decisions affect other people, this evening is for you.
