The Remnants

In March 2023 one of the most popular dance bands, The Original Triumphs decided to retire. Four members of that group were not ready to retire; Steve Wendtland, Billy Hafer, KP Peikert, and Debra Gayle made a decision to start a new group and continue to play a wide variety of dance music.

The Remnants are a group of talented and experienced musicians, with a dynamic and powerful horn section that will cove dance music from Country, Easy listening, Motown, Pop, and Rock. The vision of the band is to play that timeless music from the 60’s through the 90’s that will bring back memories and keep you on the dance floor all night long.

So…….who are The Remnants? Here is a list of the members, the instrument they play, and some of the bands they have been in.

Steve Wendtland -Trombone and vocals. Member of The Original Triumphs for 30 years.

Billy Hafer - Bass and vocals. Former member of The Original Triumphs, Squires, Krystal Blue, The Barons, Chance, Double Back, and Texas Pride.

Kevin Peikert – Lead guitar and vocals. Known to some as “KP”. Former member of The Original Triumphs, Southern Comfort, The Mixx, Kevin Eagan, Derringer, Grand Mullett and Kist By Grace.

Debra Gayle – Keyboards, tenor, alto and soprano saxes, and vocals. Former member of The Original Triumphs, The Hensarlings , Luck Of The Draw, Renegade, Hotel 908, Grand Mullett and Kist By Grace.

Mick Barosh- Drums and vocals. Former member of The Original Triumphs, The Wild West, Texas Pride and Chance.

Steve Haygood – Lead and rhythm guitar, and vocals. Former member of The Original Triumphs, Derringer, Badlandz, Steel Country, and TillURide.

Rollie Cardner –Keyboards and vocals. Former member of Destiny, The Quick and Dr. Y, Pearl Murray and the Jewels, The Houston Solution, The Night Shift Band and Horizon.

Vincent Garcia – Tenor and Alto saxes, and vocals. Currently playing with The Red Ravens, and TillUride.

Thomas Williamson -Trumpet and vocals. Former member of the University Of Texas Band and an El Campo native.
