About Room to Read!

We know life can get busy and when we don't carve out time, it can be challenging to finish a book, start a new one, or connect with a reading community. Room to Read is an invitation to slow down and dedicate intentional time to reading—together. Same room. Different books. Good company.

Bring whatever you’re currently reading and join us for an evening of rest, solo reading and reflection. We’ll kick off with a brief check-in, move into 45 minutes of solo reading, and close with optional reflections for those who wish to share. All are welcome.

Room to Read is a part of our monthly book club series The Read In, held every first Monday in the Center for Black Literature and Culture (CBLC) at Central Library.
