April is the coolest month - - -The Raskolnikovs return for one night only at Barrel Brothers Newtown with special guests Deaf Edge and Hans Blix !!!
This is your only opportunity this year to revel in the raucous sounds of one of Wellington's favourite live acts. Formed in 2003, this folk-horror polka-punk 6-piece will have you crying in your beer over past loves and unfulfilled potential, then rollicking in wild abandon with a vow to strive for your dreams, no matter what cost.
All the emotions are there in black and white and vivid colour - inhabited by the characters in their songs: world-weary sailors; murderous butchers and thieves; dead mayors; catacomb crawlers; old-school men of the world; and that kid who went mad playing a farfisa organ... Wide screen narratives and rocking tunes, presented with unrelenting enthusiasm.
