The Rally Caps are a rock band based in Washington, DC. Formed in 2023, they write whimsical songs about slice-of-life topics such as beans, beer, sports and aliens. Ever the crowd pleaser, they were described as having "Trogdor energy" by an open mic host and dubbed "surprisingly heavy" by a DC punk. Veterans of DC’s thriving bluegrass scene, Two Ton Twig explores the fringes of traditional bluegrass and string band music with their eclectic blend of modern influences. The band has released three full-length albums, and and two EPs that captures their live spirit in the studio — The Molting Session (2015), Fairydust & Rattlesnakes (2018), Heart Like a House on Fire (2019), Charred Remains: Songs from the Heart Like a House on Fire Sessions (2020), Grandpa’s Cough Medicine (2024). The band’s discography effortlessly blends elements of bluegrass, old-time, Appalachian folk, manouche jazz, blues, rock, and classical to create the Two Ton Twig sound.

Alabaster Boxer, a captivating fusion of Pop and Folk, was formed in 2022 with a vision to weave diverse musical influences into a harmonious tapestry. Led by primary songwriter and vocalist/guitarist Nick Durm, the band’s lineup includes Jason Lockart on keyboards and vocals, Bill Fraley on bass and vocals, Brian Bell on guitar, Corey Lee McQuade on dobro, banjo, and vocals, and Scott Hinkle on drums and vocals.
The band’s musical journey is characterized by a unique blend of Folk, Pop, Rock, Bluegrass, and Punk elements. Alabaster Boxer’s sound is a testament to their eclectic taste and a commitment to exploring the vast landscapes of music.
In 2023, the band received the “Born & Bred Folk Artist of the Year” award, a recognition of their exceptional contribution to the West Virginia music scene. The same year marked the release of their debut album, “Currency of Dreams,” which garnered acclaim for its storytelling lyrics and harmony-driven vocals. The album stands as a testament to Alabaster Boxer’s ability to craft compelling narratives through their music.
