About this Event

The Rainmaker —A Classic American TaleBrings Love, Hope, and Faith to Hyannis Arts Hall StageThe first full season of comedy, music, plays, and celebrities continues at Hyannis Arts Hall

Hyannis Arts Hall and Back Porch Theater present the N. Richard Nash play The Rainmaker, a tale of love, hope, and faith in ourselves and each other, from Thursday, August 6 through Sunday, August 9.
A surprise hit of the 2025 summer season for the Sandwich Arts Alliance, The Rainmaker brings a unique blend of humor and insight into the human heart to Hyannis Arts Hall, an emerging hub for music, theater, and film in the historic East End of Hyannis, behind the Federated Church of Hyannis, at 81 Willow Avenue

“A tale of love, a tale of hope, a tale of faith - in ourselves and in each other. At a time of paralyzing drought in the West, where ‘the only thing we have to fear is fear itself,’ we discover Lizzie, a girl whose father and two brothers are worried as much about her becoming an old maid as they are about their dying cattle — when out of nowhere appears an unexpected visitor. Honey-tongued and grandiose, he promises rain. For $100. And the rain comes. And so does love.”

Massachusetts and Cape Cod actors Neil McGarry and Miranda Jonte return in this American classic. The two will also codirect the production. Funny honest, and sincere, The Rainmaker is a quintessential piece of Americana, and a timeless romance.

Tickets are $35 general admission including fees. Senior/Student/Military admission is $30.

Hyannis Arts Hall is part of the 501[c]3 nonprofit Hyannis Arts & Film, along with Hyannis Film Festival and Hyannis Arts & Flea. The organization is devoted to bringing the performing arts and culture to Hyannis and Cape Cod, and to boost the local economy.
