Communicating the inequalities within climate work and taking action during challenging times
About this Event

We are excited to welcome you to The RACE Summit 2026!

The RACE Report in collaboration with Kings College London (KCL), and the Diverse Sustainability Initiative bring you The RACE Summit.

Join us at King's College London - Strand Campus for this annual summit filled with progressive conversations, positive challenges, practical takeaways, connection, networking opportunities, and action-oriented workshops to create a more inclusive environmental sector!

Full agenda coming soon (see outline of the day below)!

At a time when climate justice, equity, diversity and inclusion are increasingly pivoting up and down the political agenda the inequalities within climate spaces continue to grow. With communities most impacted by the climate crisis remaining disproportionately excluded from the conversation.

It’s no longer the “popular” thing to prioritise EDI work. Which makes our work even more important.

So how do we continue communicating why it matters whilst working with smaller budgets, fewer dedicated staff and increasing pushback?

The answer lies in how we tell the story.

How do we communicate the urgency of climate equality in a way that actually lands? How do we meet people where they’re at? Whether that’s funders, community members, activists, campaigners or leadership teams.

The RACE Summit 2026 is a space to unpack some of these answers together.

We’re bringing together HR professionals, CEOs and leaders in the climate space, young people entering the sector, global majority communities, campaigners, creatives and communicators to explore how we tell the story of climate justice. So that together we can connect, resonate and create action.

Together, we’ll explore how we communicate this work internally, externally and with funders, and why strategic storytelling matters now more than ever.

This year’s summit builds on the success of 2025, with even more creativity woven throughout the day, through discussion, facilitation, storytelling and creative expression. Exploring different ways to communicate climate justice so the right people listen, understand and act.

Who should attend The RACE Summit?

- Individuals with lived experience of marginalisation and underrepresentation in the sector, and allies (staff, long-service volunteers, trustees)

- Young people/students aspiring to get into the sector

- Human Resources professionals and Equity Diversity and Inclusion leads from environmental, climate, sustainability, conservation or nature organisations and charities (staff and trustees)

- CEOs and senior leadership professionals of environmental, climate, sustainability, conservation or nature organisations and charities (staff and trustees)

The RACE Summit builds on the work of The RACE Report, supporting the environment sector to progress racial justice and inclusion. We strongly encourage any organisation involved with these networks and initiatives to attend.

Mark your calendars and get your tickets to be part of the change at The RACE Summit 2026!
