Set across decades and continents, THE QUEEN OF MY DREAMS is a vibrant, genre-blending mother-daughter dramedy that explores queerness, memory, and the Bollywood dreams that shape us. Azra, a queer Muslim grad student in Canada, finds herself on a whirlwind journey through her family's past after the sudden death of her father. As she travels to Pakistan, memory and imagination blur - transporting her between 1969 Karachi and 1999 Nova Scotia, and between her own coming-of-age and her mother's.
Doors will open early for a brief networking session at 6:30 PM, followed by the screening beginning at 7 PM.
Director, Fawzia Mirza, and producer, Andria Wilson-Mirza, are expected for an extended post-screening Q&A moderated by Milwaukee-based filmmaker Lajwanti P. Waghray.
