Celebrating the poetry of Mike Farren with music for string trio played by Karen Vaughan (violin), Sarah Rushton (viola) & Keely Hodgson (cello).Mike Farren’s poems have appeared widely in journals and anthologies. He has won and been placed in several competitions. His pamphlets are ‘Pierrot and his Mother’ (Templar), ‘All of the Moons’ (Yaffle) and ‘Smithereens’ (4Word). He is part of Yaffle Publishing team, one of the hosts of Shipley’s ‘Rhubarb’ open mic and an organiser of Bradford's Beehive Poets. In 2024, he was one of Ilkley Literature Festival’s New Northern Poets and he is part of the Arvon Foundation's Advanced Writing Programme.
This spoken word evening will include poetry with original music: two of Mike's collaborations with composer Keely Hodgson; 4 pieces for poet, violin and cello from his collection "All of the Moons", and a sequence from his "Northcliffe Poems" for poet, violin, viola and cello.
DOORS OPEN 7.30pm. £7 on the door (card payments accepted) & BAR.
