The Project: History Extension Seminar Day

Presented by Museums of History NSW and the State Library of NSW, this seminar day will equip students to embark on their major project.
About this Event

The History Extension Project Seminar Day is delivered as a hybrid event. Students have the option to attend the full-day program in person, or half a day online (morning sessions only). Whether attending in person or virtually, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with museum, library and history professionals, History Extension experts, and former History Extension students.

Highlights of this year’s seminar include a Q&A with historian, author, podcaster, educator and public commentator, Professor Anna Clark, and a chance to learn all the tips and tricks from high-performing History Extension students from recent years. Students attending the program in person can also attend a series of afternoon workshops designed to spark curiosity and allow students to speak with experts and network with their peers. All attendees will receive access to a suite of online content, including research tips and presentations from previous years.

Keynote speaker

Professor Anna Clark
Author, podcaster, educator, historian and public commentator

Professor Anna Clark is a historian and public commentator based at the Australian Centre for Public History at the University of Technology Sydney. She has written and co-edited several works of history: with Stuart Macintyre she co-wrote The History Wars in 2003, which was awarded the NSW Premier's Prize for Australian History and the Queensland Premier's Prize for Best Literary or Media Work Advancing Public Debate.

Her book, , was published by Penguin in 2022 and was longlisted for a Walkley Award and an NIB Literary Award. She is also the creator of the successful podcasts for primary schools and for teachers: Hey History! and Hey History Teacher! Her teaching interests range across Australian history and historiography, including contests over the past, oral history, history education, memory studies, and public history.
