The Practical Implications of the Building Safety Act
Thursday 22 October 2026 | 9:30 AM–4:30 PM | Broadway House, London | In person
Join us for a full day of practical guidance on the Building Safety Act, duty holder responsibilities and what the legislation means for professionals working across the built environment.
Through practical guidance, a real-world case study and perspectives from three industry specialists, we'll explore how the Building Safety Act is affecting projects in practice — and the responsibilities and risks professionals need to be aware of.
By the end of the day, you'll have a clearer understanding of your responsibilities under the BSA, the risks to look out for and how the legislation is affecting real projects across different disciplines.
Morning session: The Building Safety Act in practice
We'll begin with a practical overview of the Building Safety Act, duty holder risk and the Golden Thread, focusing on how these requirements apply to real projects.
We'll then work through an interactive case study examining the first project to go through court under the Building Safety Act and the practical lessons for those involved in design, construction and project delivery.
Lunch
A hot buffet lunch will be provided.
Afternoon session: Expert perspectives
In the afternoon, we'll be joined by three guest speakers, Dave Symondson - Chief Funding Advisor & Founder of Dev Brok Property Development, Sean Hanlon a Structural Engineer and specialist design company Andrew Fox from The Cinema Company , each exploring the Building Safety Act from the perspective of their own discipline.
We'll finish the session with a panel Q&A, giving you the opportunity to put your own questions to our speakers.
