Led by the co-author of Making Thinking Visible & The Power of Making Thinking Visible, this engaging two-day workshop expands upon foundational ideas of making thinking visible and  offers a deeper look at creating rich learning environments. Designed specifically for teachers, teacher leaders, and school leaders of all grade levels, this session moves beyond the surface to explore the true complexity of a Culture of Thinking.  This workshop provides tools and collaborative space to elevate instructional practice.

The momentum behind Making Thinking Visible (MTV) practices has transformed classrooms globally. When we make students' thinking visible, we gain invaluable insight into how they process, analyze, and make sense of their world. This insight empowers us to make instructional choices that genuinely fit our learners, while simultaneously cultivating habits of mind that serve them for a lifetime.

What We Will Explore:

• Thinking Routines: Investigate how to select, frame, and anchor routines to drive powerful student engagement and develop thinking dispositions in service of subject matter understanding
• Listening, Questioning, & Documentation: Move beyond the routines to look at the vital practices that bring depth, nuance, and complexity to student thinking and deep learning
• Classroom and Leadership Context: Examine real-world examples from a diverse range of grade levels and educational settings to see how like-minded teachers and leaders leverage these ideas both in the classroom and school-wide.

Mark Church is an international consultant and board member of the Cultures of Thinking Foundation, partnering with schools worldwide to transform classroom learning. He believes that when educators make thinking visible, valued, and actively promoted, they unlock a powerful shift in the student experience. Mark inspires school leaders and teachers to become true students of their students—and reflective students of their own practice.

In addition to his global field work and classroom roots, Mark guides educators through Harvard Project Zero Learn online courses, focusing on cultural forces, thinking dispositions, and visible thinking mindsets. He is the co-author, with Ron Ritchhart, of the bestselling books Making Thinking Visible (2011) and The Power of Making Thinking Visible (2020).
