Chad Pilieri founded the local non-profit Grow Local Greenwood Lake in 2019 with a mission statement of helping to create a regenerative, resilient, local food system in Greenwood Lake and the surrounding community. Chad has a Permaculture Design Certificate, a Landscaping Design Certificate from the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, and a Community Compost Certificate from the 131 School of Composting.
