The Power of Interracial Sisterhood: Permission to Be a Bad Woman
About this Event
"I REFUSE TO BE GOOD. This is a matter of survival, not inclination or mood."
Those are the first sentences of Savala Nolan's Good Woman: A Reckoning, named a most anticipated feminist book of 2026 by Ms. Magazine.
They are also an invitation.
For centuries, one of patriarchy's sharpest tactics has been to pit women against each other, to crown only the compliant, thin, young, white, cis, hetero woman as the "good" one, and to punish the rest of us for stepping out of line. Especially for doing the most threatening thing of all: sharing information and resources with one another, across race and across generation.
So one of the most powerful tactics of women's liberation is giving ourselves, and each other, permission to be "bad women." To break the rules that were never written for us. To share what we know, what we have, and who we are, across every line meant to divide us.
That's exactly what we'll do on Monday, August 24, 2026.
Join us over cocktails and a light supper at ERIA Marina, a gorgeous new event space in San Francisco, for an evening of honest conversation, real connection, and community across difference.
Women, including trans women, of all ethnicities and generations are welcome. At our last gathering, a grandmother, mother, and granddaughter came together. Our oldest guest was 89 and our youngest was 7. Many women invite friends to join them at our events. Others come on their own, and leave with new friends. Whether you arrive solo or bring your crew, you'll be warmly welcomed the moment you walk in.
