For the past few years, a dedicated group has worked to establish the Women in Leadership Committee through the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce, inspired by successful initiatives like the Capital Region Chamber's Women's Business Council. Key initiatives include leadership workshops, mentorship programs, and preparing women for leadership roles, including board positions. The committee will focus on inclusivity, diverse representation, and empowering women, particularly in underserved areas. Future events include workshops on negotiation, conflict resolution, and professional branding, as well as a mentoring program for the next generation.
