About The Author
Versandra Kennebrew is the founder of Optimal Living Retreats LP with more than two decades of transformative experience. Passionate about empowering individuals, groups, and non-profit organizations, she has dedicated her career to guiding others toward optimal living and resilient thriving—even in the face of life’s toughest challenges.
Her personal journey—a path marked by overcoming homelessness and mental illness—fuels her empathetic approach and fervent advocacy for those in need. Versandra’s lived experience leadership extends to community service, having served on boards such as Health & Fitness ICU Detroit, the Coalition on Temporary Shelter Detroit, and Gateway Center Atlanta’s continuum of care. Through public speaking initiatives and collaborations with the National Alliance to End Homeless, the National Coalition for the Homeless, and Toastmasters International, she has given a powerful voice to marginalized communities, inspiring change on social justice and poverty alleviation fronts.
An AmeriCorps VISTA alumna honored with community service awards, Versandra is committed to service at home and abroad. A certified Peace Corps volunteer she will be supporting families with community health initiatives in West Africa through September 2030. Versandra Kennebrew continues to inspire countless individuals to reconnect, heal, and live vibrantly.
