Come join the committed antiracists of Conversations on Race, including the exciting new graduates of the Southfield Library Series, on February 24, 6-8PM to build an asset map to end racism in Metro Detroit. In this actionable plan we quickly: - Recognize our assets (individual, associational, and more)
- Connect the dots
- Vote with our feet
All are welcome, no matter where you are in your journey.
We plan to use this meeting to identify what assets we have among us–our talents, interests, resources–and how we can team up those assets into activities or services that can address race-related concerns in our communities. It is a simple approach to a complex problem, often used in church congregations in strategic planning and problem solving. (See Luther K. Snow’s The Power of Asset Mapping: How Your Congregation Can Act on Its Gifts.) Thanks to Pastor Karen Stunkel, a ConR member, who stepped forward to share her gifts and experience with the ConR approach. Please join us. We need everyone for this to make a difference.
