As we approach the November elections, many Tennesseans recognize that it is time for a change in Tennessee.
Across TN-District 4, growth is outpacing infrastructure, hospitals fight to stay open, and young families struggle to find housing and childcare they can afford. Across Tennessee, the state's aging roads, water systems, and healthcare infrastructure aren't keeping up, and school funding is being pulled toward a voucher program that drains resources from the public classrooms our kids depend on. And across the country, rising costs, disappearing rural hospitals, and a shrinking middle class are being felt in small towns everywhere.
These aren't Democrat problems or Republican problems. They're American problems, and they deserve real solutions.
In response to today's problems, a new generation of Democratic leaders is fighting to bring back the Democratic Party that works for the working class. A party that puts People Over Politics.
At the P.O.P. Fest & Unity March, from 1 pm to 3 pm, you'll hear from guest speakers such as:
Jerri Green: Democratic nominee for Governor
Justin Kanew: founder of media outlet The TN Holler
Victoria Broderick: Democratic nominee for U.S. House of Representatives (Dist 4)
Mike Stein: Democratic nominee for TN House (Dist 47)
These leaders are advocating for policies like investing in infrastructure, expanding Medicaid for rural Tennessee, lowering costs, raising wages, and fully funding public schools. They believe that the Democratic Party's job is to work for the working class of rural America again by addressing kitchen table issues, affordability, and access to the American Dream for Americans of every color and every creed. These are values that once united us, long before politics tried to tear us apart. Values like freedom, family, a living wage, and love of country and neighbor.
After hearing from the guest speakers, from 3 pm to 4 pm, we'll participate in a Unity March through Manchester town square and along Hillsboro Blvd. Bring signs of positivity, unity, and solutions, as we march for a brighter future for ALL Tennesseans and ALL Americans.
Whether you're a lifelong Democrat, an independent in search of answers, or a Republican looking for representatives who will fight for you instead of the elites, this event is for you, and all are welcome. Come celebrate unity with us on September 12th. Let us gather to usher in a new era of the Tennessee Democratic Party that puts People Over Politics.
