About this Event
The landmark Carillon Tower and War Memorial Museum serves as the backdrop for a pop-up poetry reading of famous and unexpected war poems on Armistice Day.
From the Great War to our own time, poets provide an emotive response to war and armed conflict. This free public event celebrates poetry of all forms that commemorates historical events and offer comfort. Come and listen to the voices of famous and local war poets as well as contemporary and BAME poets writing about the trauma of armed conflict.
During our open mic, members of the public are also invited to read a poem of their own, whether their own creation or an existing work. Please register your interest using this Eventbrit page.
