The PNW Jazz Education Association presents: The PNW Youth Symphonic Jazz Orchestra in Concert

The Pacific Northwest Youth Symphonic Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Isidore Rudnick, presents a dynamic evening of symphonic jazz. Performing the music of Quincy Jones, Miles Davis, the Modern Jazz Quartet, Mary Lou Williams, Ray Charles, Don Ellis, Wayne Shorter and Charles Mingus, the orchestra both delights and energizes audiences. The orchestra is made up of 42 of the most talented high school students from the Pacific Northwest and other regions across the country along with a few 1st year college students. Their repertoire consists of contemporary jazz standards, Latin jazz pieces, music from film, and jazz ballads. Special guest artist for the evening will be the brilliant young trombonist, Spencer Merk.
