The Pink & Blues: Campus to Community: Film Screening
About this Event
From Campus to Community
The Pink & Blues: Campus to Community (2025) is a powerful documentary that explores football, community, and men’s mental health. Following the FC Pique Blinders, a six-a-side university campus team using sport as a foundation for awareness, conversation, and change.
What began as a casual kickabout between friends grew into something far beyond the pitch. Driven by a mission to create a safe space in sport, the team raised funds, built community, and provided a platform for awareness and support around men's mental health. In partnership with Mind in Salford, the team created a grassroots movement centred on breaking stigma, encouraging openness, and supporting wellbeing through football.
Following their 2023/24 season, the film builds towards their annual charity match at Atherton Stadium, capturing the energy of matchday while weaving in personal interviews with players who share honest reflections on mental health, identity, and friendship.
The screening forms part of Desi United, a photography exhibition by Iqra Saied hosted at Richard Street Studios. Inspired by Bend It Like Beckham, the exhibition explores heritage, ambition, identity, and women’s sport through contemporary portraiture.
Following the screening, audiences are invited to experience the exhibition space, bringing film and photography together in conversation around culture, identity, and belonging.
Bring your favourite football shirt and become part of the occasion. Whether it represents your club, community, or personal story, we'd love to see it.
