Opening Night of the Phoenix of GazaXR exhibit: lecture and reception (Doors open at 5pm; Event begins at 5:30pm)
About this Event

The Phoenix of GazaXR is a virtual reality project documenting life in Gaza through 360-degree filming completed over several years. The project began with the goal of showing the beauty and resilience of Palestinians living under occupation and siege & presenting Gaza outside the realm of death and destruction, only to become redefined by the genocidal war that began in 2023.
On November 3rd & 4th, the public will be able to sign up for 30-minute slots to view videos and images on VR headsets at the exhibit. Walk-in spots will also be made available both days. To sign-up for a slot, please visit the FAQ section.
We will open the Phoenix of GazaXR exhibit on the evening of Monday, November 2nd with a poetry reading by Fady Joudah and a lecture by the exhibit's co-founders, Professors Ahlam Muhtaseb (CSU-SB) and Naim Aburaddi (Villanova). The lecture and reading will be followed by a reception with light refreshments.

Doors open at 5:00 pm; Event starts at 5:30 pm!
