A forerunner of the American horror film, and one of the most lavish productions of the silent cinema, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA has inspired countless remakes and imitations. But none of its successors can rival the mesmerizing blend of romance and mystery that haunts every frame of the 1925 Lon Chaney original. Chaney gives his greatest performance as the Phantom, the vengeful composer who haunts the Opera of Paris and wears a mask to hide his hideously deformed face. His love for a young prima donna takes a sinister turn when he abducts her and carries her away to his lair in the depths of the catacombs underneath the city.

Formed with multi-instrumentalists in the Denver area, each performance is unique. New original musical scores are tailored to play off of audience reaction, the musicians' intuition, and the action on-screen. Quarkestra makes use of traditional orchestral, electronic, and period instruments as well as live Foley sound effects to create an unforgettable soundscape.
