The Perspective Series: A Designed Day of Connected Conversations
About this Event
The Perspective Series: A Designed Day of Connected Conversations
This Designed Day brings designers and decision-makers together in a comfortable setting that reimagines continuing education as both engaging and enjoyable. It’s structured more like a studio charrette than a conference, where the setting, pacing, and group size are all intentionally designed to create connections with architecture and each other throughout the day. Through curated programming and intentional peer-to-peer dialogue, the day brings deeper connections, sharper insights, and practical takeaways leaving attendees more informed, more connected, and motivated to apply what they’ve learned.
The setting feels more like a thoughtfully designed living room than a conference room. Coffee, couches, and sofa chairs replace rigid or formal seating, creating a comfortable and conversational space. Six AIA-accredited CEU sessions follows the natural progression of a building lifecycle, aligning each presentation with the moments where decisions have the greatest impact.
A curated lunch of Hoboken's signature dishes will be brought in (LasIsla’s cubanos and Antique Bar & Bakery’s meatball), while creative engagements like a “Napkin Sketch Contest” keep energy high and thinking active. The day closes with a wine and design pairing experience, where conversation relaxes, ideas open up, and the experience lingers well beyond the final session.

Dinner with ICC Official (International Code Council) - Billed Separately
Info: Billed Separately: Limited to just 7 individual seats, this session offers a candid, behind-the-scenes look at how code changes really happen, not the textbook version, but the real-world process. We’ll explore how proposals are initiated, what actually drives a code change forward, and how products and systems make their way into adopted codes. The discussion will also highlight common misinterpretations we frequently see from architects and break down the issues most often flagged during plan review. Designed to be practical, conversational, and highly relevant, this is an opportunity to gain clarity, ask questions, and walk away with insights you can immediately apply to your work.
