The Penn State Extension Master Gardener Program has been a steady and meaningful force in Erie County for decades, training community volunteers to bring research-based horticultural knowledge directly to their neighbors. Rooted in a commitment to accessible education, the program works across the region to address food security, promote environmental stewardship, and connect people to the natural world around them. This presentation will examine the program's scope, its volunteers, and the real impact of their work in our communities. It will close with an introduction to an upcoming partnership with the Jefferson Educational Society. JES Community Conversations are sponsored by the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority.
