The Patriot
During the American Revolution, a reluctant widower is drawn into the fight for independence after British forces threaten his family. Starring Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger, this sweeping historical drama follows his transformation into an unlikely militia leader alongside his idealistic son, as the conflict between colonial forces and the British Army intensifies.
Presented as part of our celebration of VA250, this screening invites audiences to reflect on early American history and the nation’s formative conflicts, as interpreted through a cinematic lens. Read more at barnsofrosehill.org/concerts/patriot.
