About this Event
The Patapsco River (MD) Chapter invites you to the 22nd year of our signature program, Women in the Arts. This year, we celebrate honorees who are Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future.
This year's theme honors the powerful role of creativity in preserving culture and strengthening community. These women are guardians of legacy and architects of belonging and preserve cultural legacy through visual art, dance, music, storytelling, and more . Their artistry does not simply reflect the communities they come from; it sustains them, passes down what matters, and builds the connective tissue that holds neighborhoods, generations, and traditions together. In recognizing them, we celebrate art as an act of love for community.
This year's honorees have been selected based upon their ongoing commitment to elevating this theme through their artistry:
- Alyssa Baker
- Joi Carter
- Dr. Leslie King Hammond
- Dr. Hollie Hood-Mincey
- Sydnie L. Mosley
- Willow Newman
- Stephanie R. Ogunnaike
- Pamela Simonson Parker
- Tanea Renee
- April Ryan
- Noreen Smith
