the passenger is inspired by the passage of time and the various ways we feel, many of which we cannot describe or put our finger on - how does time exist in relationship to the present, past and future versions of ourselves. Time moves forward, like an invisible current, carrying everything along in its steady flow. The past, once vivid and alive, begins to fade, slipping into something distant and almost unreachable. Yet, some memories cling, persistent and warm—moments that feel so real, so full of life - it feels like you could step right back into them. The sound of a familiar voice, the smell of a favorite place, the laughter that used to fill a room—those are the memories we yearn to hold onto, never to forget. But there are others, too, memories that sting with what’s been lost, what’s faded away. We know we have to let them go, but it feels like releasing a part of ourselves. As time pulls us forward, those moments we've held so tightly to begin to blur, and with each step, we are left wondering which pieces of the past we'll be able to carry with us, and which ones we must leave behind.

Emily Cargill + Dancers' immersive dance work will take audience members on a nostalgic, intimate, visceral journey that captures and reflects upon the fleeting, beautiful, and sometimes forgotten moments that - knowingly and unknowingly - shape our lives. Some moments we wish we could hold onto, grasp tightly and never let go, while others we long to leave behind. As the passenger unfolds, we come to realize that through the act of simply moving, our journey is defined not by destinations, but by the fleeting, beautiful, and sometimes painful moments we encounter along the way.
