We have made the Gregory Gillespie feature documentary preview screening a free, unticketed event! The Painted Life of Gregory Gillespie will be shown 10/27/24 at the Academy of Music in Northampton MA. Doors open at 3:30 PM. Show begins promptly at 4PM. We will have a panel talk with local artists/film participants and myself after the screening. Wear your best paint splattered clothing.
In lieu of a ticket fee, please consider a donation of your choosing to the fantastic local arts nonprofit @commonwealthmurals. They are working hard to keep artist legacies alive while beautifying the city of Springfield and paying talented artists to come together and do the work. I am jumping to be with you all then and celebrate the extraordinary life and work of Gregory Gillespie. Shouts to Peggy Gillespie, Eric Brecher and all who have helped make this happen to introduce a brilliant 20th century American artist to new audiences and re-introduce him to those who have loved him all along. ❤️
