The Outrun (Cert 15) Saoirse Ronan plays Rona, a young woman recently out of rehab who returns to the Orkney Islands where she grew up. In flashbacks we see her as a student in London, going clubbing and finding her first serious boyfriend. We also see her drinking spiralling out of control, the relationship disintegrating. She is left vulnerable in her addiction. Attacked whilst drunk, she enters rehab, and returns to Orkney. Adjustment to her new life is difficult and she relapses but eventually, finding a job with the RSPB and moving to Papa Westray, she forms an unexpected friendship with a fellow recovering alcoholic. Nature has the power to heal and the call of the rare Corncrake signals that Rona is finally well on her way to overcoming her addiction.

We will be serving a delicious Autumnal lamb, sausage & black pudding hotpot, with spiced red cabbage made by Low Howgill Butcher & Deli, Appleby. A vegetarian option will be available.
