Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey brings Homer’s foundational saga to life as a mythic action epic filmed across the world and shot entirely with IMAX Film Cameras, the first feature film ever created this way. The film stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron.
Opening one day early at The Tech Interactive, San Jose’s science center, The Odyssey invites audiences into a story of courage, fate, danger, and discovery on an epic scale. Nolan’s newest film was crafted for IMAX from image to sound, with a dedicated IMAX sound mix designed to heighten the film’s immersive impact.
Experience it in The Tech’s IMAX Dome Theater, featuring IMAX with Laser, crystal-clear sound, and the largest dome screen in the Bay Area. This is the kind of film that makes moviegoing feel like an expedition.
The Odyssey opens at The Tech on Thursday, July 16, 2026, ahead of its wide release on July 17. It will show Fridays to Sundays and select Thursdays through Aug. 2.
