Christopher Nolan's THE ODYSSEY comes to the historic Alex Theatre — presented in glorious 70mm film, July 16 through August 6.
A mythic action epic shot across the world with brand-new IMAX® film technology, THE ODYSSEY brings Homer's foundational saga to the big screen for the first time. From acclaimed director Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, Dunkirk, Inception) comes the legendary story of Odysseus and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War.

Only a few dozen theatres in the entire country are equipped to screen this film in true 70mm — and the Alex is one of them. For three weeks only, we're installing 70mm projection to present THE ODYSSEY exactly as Nolan intended: on film, at full scale, with a depth and clarity that digital simply can't touch. It's the same format that filled this 1925 movie palace for the great roadshow epics of Hollywood's golden age.
