The story follows two sets of unlikely roommates: the easygoing, happily messy Oscar Madison and the tightly wound, obsessively neat Felix Ungar - and in the female version, their counterparts Olive Madison and Florence Ungar. When a marriage falls apart, Felix (or Florence) moves in, and opposite personalities collide in the most hilarious way possible.
