Now in its tenth year, The North East Dog Festival has earned its place as one of the biggest dog centred events in the North.
It’s a canine celebration like no other! Set against the picturesque backdrop of Kirkley Hall, the festival has charmed its way into the hearts of thousands of dog lovers.
🐾 Have-a-Go Activities: Try agility, canisports, mantrailing, scentwork, flyball, fastest recall, rally, dog parkour, temptation alley and so much more. Plus our gundog area is getting bigger again as we welcome back the pond water retrieve and all new lure - thanks to sponsor Nordic Gundogs.
NEW for 2025! The Clever K9 Ring sponsored by Doorstep Vet
This exciting new ring will host completely free, 20-minute dog training sessions throughout the day, perfect for brushing up on basics or trying something totally new. From canine fitness and confidence building to loose lead walking, recall, trick training, and more – there's something for every dog and owner to enjoy. Plus there will also be demonstrations from trainers and special guest Chloe and her super Spaniels.

This year we welcome returning favourites Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter Dog Show sponsored by Hatton's Hungry Hounds and newcomers to the festival dog show Northumberland Dog Rescue. Plus this year we welcome back the Kennel Club Scruffts competition on Saturday.

Our popular main arena returns where you'll be inspired by thrilling demonstrations and performances. Cheer for the fastest flyball team and see if you can pick out the agility winning runs! Returning crowd favourites Kipperridge Gundogs and Walworth Birds of Prey will have you laughing and smiling whilst a brand new working trials display will have you saying 'wow'!

Get ready for one of the most exciting (and possibly hilarious!) new additions to this year’s North East Dog Festival. This year our Breed Hang Out is having a spruce up! This is not your average breed meet-up. It’s where fun meets function, and where owners (and their dogs!) can dive into the fascinating world of breed traits, training tips, and canine quirks. Expect a breed based game of true or false, breed bonus info and a chance to share stories about your breed. Led by dog behaviour experts Nathan and Louisa Squires of The Dog Log.

This year is a record breaker for trade as we welcome over 120 trade stands - You'll find everything you could wish for when it comes to your dog; from handmade dog treats and accessories to some of the UK's biggest and best loved brands. Not forgetting the humans where you can wine and dine with fabulous food and drink plus a range of homemade goodies.
This year we welcome Chloé & The Super Spaniels, TV Pet Expert & Pet Nutritionist as seen on TV.
