Auditions will take place at Playcrafters Barn Theatre in Moline…
- Saturday, November 9th from 6PM-8PM
- Sunday, November 10th from 2PM-4PM
Performance Dates:
• Friday, January 31 – Sunday, February 2
• Friday, February 7 – Sunday, February 9
• February 5-6 (Possible benefit performances)
*Rehearsals will depend on the actors’ availability.
*All actors who are cast must be available for all show dates, as well as tech week.
Zoe, a Black student at a liberal arts college, is called into her white professor’s office to discuss her paper about slavery’s effect on the American Revolution. What begins as a polite clash in perspectives explodes into an urgent debate about race, history, and power.
Notes from the director about casting:
• Seeking a variety of ages and physical types.
• Please bring your acting resume or a list of your acting experience. Be prepared to read from the script.
• “First-timers” are welcome to audition.
• Please also be able to list any and all scheduling conflicts December-January.
Characters:
-Zoe: A millennial liberal who is impatient for progress, female, black, 18-25. A college student.
-Janine: A 1960s liberal, feminist, and free speech advocate, white, late 40s-70s. A college professor.
