About this Event
We are thrilled to announce our next live event, a discussion with composer Jeff Morrow and orchestrator Jordan Siegel on the score for the Disney live-action Snow White. Jeff and Jordan will join us at the Glendale First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 29th, just one week after the film’s theatrical release, to discuss everything that went into writing, orchestrating and recording this reboot of what is arguably Disney’s most essential title, their first animated feature, and the movie that launched them as a studio of feature films.
Snow White is directed by Marc Webb and produced by Marc Platt with songs by Pasek and Paul. Jeff Morrow composed the score, featuring a 100-piece orchestra, alongside of which you can hear him as the whistling voice of Dopey!
No stranger to timeless classics, Jeff is currently expanding the rich musical history of The Peanuts as the composer selected by Apple and the Schulz family to score Snoopy in Space, The Snoopy Show, Camp Snoopy, Who Are You, Charlie Brown? and six specials, including To Mom (and Dad), with Love, which earned him an Emmy nomination. He also refreshed the sound of a Warner Brothers favorite with A Christmas Story Christmas, directed by Clay Kaytis.
Jeff was chosen by Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio to bring George Carlin’s career to life in George Carlin’s American Dream. He returns to Sundance this year with his score for Sally, a profile of the first American woman in space, after charming festival goers with his DIY synths in the 2018 Sundance Audience Choice award-winner, Science Fair.
Jeff’s other credits include major films such as Trolls, Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Jumanji: The Next Level, and Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid.
Jordan Seigel (Orchestrator):
Los Angeles-based orchestrator, pianist, and composer Jordan Seigel has contributed to a wide range of high-profile projects across film, television, and live performance. His orchestration credits include Snow White, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The LEGO Movie 2, The Bob’s Burgers Movie, A Christmas Story Christmas, and Hozier’s Unreal Unearth. He has also arranged music for concerts featuring Babyface, Common, and Maxwell with the National Symphony Orchestra.
As a performer, Seigel has worked on a variety of projects such as The Last of Us, The Simpsons, The Morning Show, and the Apple TV+ Peanuts series and specials. His original music for film and television include Focus Features’ Half Brothers, Jay Duplass’ dramedy The Baltimorons, and the Ahrens and Flaherty musical comedy Lucky Stiff. Additional music credits include The Twilight Zone, TURN: Washington’s Spies, and Godfather of Harlem.
