The Music House String Quartet with Caroline Shaw, viola

I’m delighted to invite you to the next Music House concerts on Saturday, August 22 (7pm) and Sunday, August 23 (3pm). Both concerts will feature the same dynamic program, so you have two opportunities to join us for a concert full of three audience favorites: Beethoven’s String Quartet Opus 95, the Barber Adagio, and Dvořák’s “American” String Quintet.
I'd like to highlight Dvořák’s “American” String Quintet (No. 3 in Eb major). If you are a fan of his New World Symphony, you will not want to miss this piece! The quintet combines Dvořák’s Bohemian and American inspirations and has been well-loved since its New York debut in 1894. One original reviewer even stated that it was “of the kind [of pieces] about which a commentator may write a small volume without exhausting his admiration or fully describing their beauties.” So I will leave it there and not try to do so. Hopefully, you are already convinced that you won’t want to miss it.
Of special note, Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning composer (and Greenville native!) Caroline Shaw will join us as a violist for the performance of the Quintet. In addition, this concert will feature Kirsten Swanson (violin), Meredith Harris (viola), Christopher Nunnally (cello), and myself (violin).
The concerts will both begin with drinks on the porch, then move inside for the musical program. During intermission, we'll take a break for refreshments, wine tasting, and socializing. Full concert details can be found below.

Concert Length:
~2hrs, with a 20-minute intermission for refreshments
Tickets:
$20 suggested donation / Students $1+. / $30 for those who may want to hear the concert twice.
