March 31, 2026 will mark the 50th Anniversary of the fatal house fire at the Murphy Family residence located at 89-74 215th Place. As many alumni remember, this fire killed Mr. Thomas Murphy (34) and both children, Christopher (8) and Terri Anne (3).
The Queens Village Volunteer Ambulance Corps (Bellerose Rescue Co.) has initiated a memorial fundraiser for this anniversary with 100% of the proceeds going to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
A Remembrance Mass has also been scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Remembrance prayer cards will be available to anyone who attends the mass or chooses to donate. ��
