from the kinks to the killers!
MOTA biog: MOTA are a 4-piece covers band playing high-energy rock/pop floorfillers to get audiences dancing all night. From the Kinks to The Killers! MOTA formed in 2023 from members from two other bands who wanted to play together. Vocals, Guitar, Bass and Drums. We are all highly experienced musicians who have played rock and pop music on the circuit for many years. We play most weekends in pubs and clubs from York to Blyth.
Karl (bass), John W (vocals) and Don (drums) previously played in 'The Fire', a rock covers band, for many years. John R (guitar) is an import to the north east from Liverpool after several years off the circuit back on the road with MOTA following a brief spell with MissD’Mina and more recently with the Black Pearls. Don also does backing vocals and plays a synthesiser to add some colourful musical highlights.
Members have played prestigious venues, such as the Cavern Club in Liverpool and London's 100 Club. We have individually played festivals and other large events and have appeared on album recordings through the years.
We love performing live and especially making sure people have enormous fun dancing to their favourite well-known numbers. Our main motivation is to see our audiences having the time of their lives. Our setlists are created only from well-known and well-loved songs across the decades.
