The Modern Stylist - New York

In this class, you’ll learn how to create polished, long-lasting glam waves and clean, modern buns designed for today’s bridal and special event clients. You’ll master foundational prep, sectioning, and product placement, along with techniques for achieving smooth structure, soft movement, and refined finishes. From creating waves that hold without stiffness to buns that feel effortless yet intentional, this class focuses on wearable, in-demand styles you can confidently offer across a wide range of events, elevating both your skill set and your client experience.

Class Details

10am-10:15am - Introduction, kit essential list, product knowledge list

10:15am-11:15am - First hair design demo

11:15am-11:30am - Photography and editing of finished look

11:30am-12:30pm - Second hair design demo

12:30pm-12:45pm - Photography and editing of finished look

12:45pm-1pm - Additional questions and closing

**throughout demo - hair prep, hair hacks, clip in hair extension options, time saving tips and tricks, social media marketing, must ask consultation questions, showcase of own experiences to help with future endeavors, bridal business management, answering of any questions

1pm-1:30pm- Break (small bites and beverages will be provided)

1:30pm-3:30pm - Hands On

3:30pm-4pm - Clean Up and Departure

Additonal Notes

-Demo only attendees are not able to stay for the Hands On portion of the class.

-Hands On attendess are to bring with them a full styling kit, including:

*styling tools (blow dryer, curling irons, smoothing iron, texturizing/prep iron)

*styling products (working and firm hairsprays, texturizing powder and spray, spray wax, mousse and/or root lift, shine spray, thermal protectant, gel/styling cream/paste)

*brushes (detangling, boar bristle, blush, edging, round)

*combs (teasing, detangling, sectioning)

*pins (bobby pins, jump roller pins, hair pins)

*elastics (clear, cord)

*clips (sectioning, metal duckbill)

-Hands On models will not be able to sit in on the Demo portion of the class, and must arrive at 1:30pm or, no sooner than 1:15pm. Hands On models are not able to be a hairstylist.
