Over a Firefighter's career, they will experience many types of calls, never knowing what those calls will bring back to our memories in one day or many years later. There are no lessons plans or book chapters to give every Firefighter the knowledge, skills, and abilities to handle all that they will see, smell, touch, and do from their first fire to their last extrication. The Missing Chapter is what you or your Firefighters may experience - its the other side of being a Firefighter that we need to be prepared for and train into next generation.

Afternoon Presentation 1300-1600: The Officers Toolbox

This presentation offers tools for present, aspiring, or acting Officers to utilize for a good outcome on the fireground. Early command and assignment of units sets the tone for single and multi resource incidents. The toolbox offers safety factors to consider, identifies the proper use of the incident command system, and its components. Developing the strategies and tactics necessary for a successful outcome will be discussed so everyone goes home!
