The Rev It Up Hot Rod Street Fest presents: the inaugural Miss Rev It Up Pinup Contest! Taking place at one of the best and biggest hot rod parties of Fall on September 28th in Lawrence, Kansas. Contest hosted by Miss Birdy Mercury. Contest takes the stage at noon!
This is the 16th year of Rev it Up Annual Hot Rod Street Fest - their Sweet 16! Boasting a 500+ car turnout, vendors, great live music, with Amber Foxx headlining this year, a beautiful sheltered stage situated under the trees, and a full takeover of South Park in beautiful downtown Lawrence, KS.
Here's your chance to win the title of Miss Rev it Up 2024!
We are looking for a very special lady to hold the first-ever title of Miss Rev it Up 2024 and represent this annual event - a modern pinup with a style of her own, who makes those around her feel welcome, is positive, kind, and compassionate and cares about service to the community. Winners of our contest will be chosen by a panel of judges thoughtfully selected by the contest host. Judges will score and rank contestants based on the following categories: Overall appearance (outfit, hair, makeup & the ability to accessorize and style her look from head to toe), originality, rapport & personality, stage presence & posing, kindness and warmth to her fellow contestants and the ability to appeal to a crowd.
So set your pin curls, fluff up your petticoats, apply that perfect shade red lipstick and get ready to strut your stuff - the Rev it Up stage is waiting for you!
Our theme for the contest is “All About Autumn”, represented in 1940’s to early 1960’s Pinup and Vintage Fashion and Glamour looks. We want to see whatever inspires you about the season - Autumn leaves and fall colors? Sweater girl & Collegiate plaids? Apple Picking & Fall Harvest? Witchy vibes? Let's see all your Fall looks! 🍂🍁🍂🍁
• True vintage attire is encouraged, but reproduction, custom-made and retro-inspired is wonderful too.
• Examples: Full circle skirts and dresses with big, fluffy petticoats, classic vixen wiggle dresses, pencil skirts and fitted tops, capris, Hot Rod/Rockabilly girl, high-waisted jeans, 50's sweater girl tops, & vintage/retro style fit and flare, or post-war era dresses.
• Our car show is family friendly - wardrobe should reflect this.

Submissions are to include:
•Bio of 75 words or less
•1-3 photos of you in your best pinup attire. Photos do not have to be professional, however we will not accept selfies. If you do not have photos that meet these requirements, please message me and we will help you work something out.
•Registration fee of $20 will be due to secure your spot in the competition.
Awards recognized for -
• 1st place Miss Rev it Up 2024 - $400 cash prize, custom sash, crown, trophy & goodie bag.
• 1st Runner up - Sash & crown, goodie bag
• 2nd Runner up - Sash & crown, goodie bag
• “Miss Vintage” - Sash & crown, goodie bag
• “Ballard’s Betty” for the contestant raising the most funds for our charity - Sash, crown, goody bag and custom trophy (hoping to secure a cash prize, too!)
